This Beatriu de Pinós Marie Curie Funded project (2020-2023) examines how households share resources between children and adults, particularly in periods of hardship. The project aims to expand the knowledge base on child poverty in Spain and Europe to provide policymakers the high-quality evidence they need to design and implement efficient and effective anti-poverty policies.
Aims and contributions: (1) to improve understanding of intra-household inequalities in Europe and in doing so, (2) provide a better picture of child poverty in the continent. Chiefly, in bringing together the micro (household allocation of resources) and macro (cross-national) level of analysis it will (3) contribute to an understanding of how the interaction between family, state, and market shape children’s exposure to poverty and deprivation.
